He made these remarks during his first electoral rally in North Bengal, held at the Panchagarh Sugar Mill ground on Friday (January 23). Criticizing the regional disparity, he described the treatment of North Bengal as "stepmotherly negligence."

Addressing the rally, Dr. Rahman promised that if the alliance forms the government, North Bengal would be developed as the "Capital of Agro-based Industries." His pledges include reopening closed sugar mills to ensure employment and establishing medical colleges in every district, including Panchagarh, to decentralize healthcare. He also expressed strong concern over the drying up of the Teesta and Dharla rivers, vowing to restore their vitality. Calling for a resistance against any "vote-rigging" in the upcoming 13th Parliamentary Election, he urged voters to support the alliance to build a corruption-free and self-reliant Bangladesh.
