Increase Critics' Protocol Threefold: Tarique Rahman to Interim Government

He made this call as the chief guest during an election way-side meeting held at Ainpur in Moulvibazar on Thursday (January 22) afternoon.

Without naming any specific party, Tarique Rahman stated, "I request the interim government and Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus to triple the protocol for those who need it. They are trying to mislead the public, and people have already realized their intentions. We do not want the public to act out of anger against them. Please provide them with three times the security that has been allocated to BNP."

Highlighting the significance of the upcoming February 12 elections, he emphasized that there is no alternative to the 'Sheaf of Paddy' (Dhaner Sheer) to save the nation. He reminded the audience that people have sacrificed their lives and faced enforced disappearances and murders for the sake of democracy.

Recalling the previous tenure of BNP, Tarique Rahman said, "You are witnesses that whenever the 'Sheaf of Paddy' was in power, people could speak their minds freely and criticize the government. No one had to fear being disappeared or killed, and local elections were held fairly."

Calling for unity to protect the country's independence and sovereignty, he added that only BNP can guarantee the restoration of people's freedom of speech. A large number of BNP leaders, activists, and local residents attended the gathering.
