BNP to Rehabilitate July Martyrs' Families if Elected, Says Rizvi
The senior leader made this declaration on Monday afternoon in the capital's Lalmatia area after visiting Firoza Akhter, the ailing wife of martyr Firoz Ahmed, who lost his life during the July uprising. Rizvi stated that the unprecedented sacrifice made by the July warriors for the welfare of the nation is a debt that can never be fully repaid, but the BNP remains committed to ensuring a dignified life for their families.
Shifting his focus to the current political landscape and the upcoming polls, the senior BNP leader raised concerns regarding the role of the Election Commission. He remarked that the perceived neutrality of the Commission is fading day by day. Rizvi asserted that the primary responsibility of both the Commission and the interim government is to ensure that there is no scope for subtle rigging in the election. He emphasized the necessity of creating an environment where citizens can cast their votes for their preferred candidates independently and without fear.
During the visit to the martyr's family, Rizvi was accompanied by Atiqur Rahman Rumon, convener of "Amra BNP Poribar," Member Secretary Agriculturist Mokshedul Momin Mithun, and BNP Central Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam, along with top leaders from various wing organizations. The delegation inquired about Firoza Akhter's health and expressed their deep condolences to the bereaved family.
