NCP to Contest in 30 Seats Under 11-Party Alliance, Confirms Asif Mahmud
Asif Mahmud explained that this decision is part of a strategic electoral agreement among an 11-party alliance. He characterized the coalition as a "reform-oriented front against hegemony" and stated that NCP members have accepted this seat-sharing arrangement for the greater national interest. He expressed confidence that the alliance would successfully form the next government.
Regarding internal party matters, the spokesperson noted that although some members have submitted resignations, the party still considers them "assets" and has not yet accepted their departures, leaving room for future collaboration. Furthermore, in the 270 seats where the NCP will not have candidates, the party plans to mobilize its grassroots workers to campaign in favor of a "Yes" vote in the upcoming national referendum.
