Mirza Fakhrul, Tamim Iqbal Among 15 Selected for 'Begum Khaleda Zia Memorial Gold Medal'
According to a press release issued on Friday, the awardees include BNP Secretary General and LGRD Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Energy Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, and BCB President and star cricketer Tamim Iqbal. The award was established by the New York-based organization ‘Bangladesh Expatriate Citizens Committee, Inc’ to honor the legacy of the former Prime Minister.
The prestigious list also features Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Ismail Zabiullah, Aminul Haque, Mahdi Amin, and Sanjida Islam Tuly, the organizer of ‘Mayer Dak.’ Recognized for their excellence in journalism, literature, and business are Kamal Uddin Sabuj, Abdul Hye Sikder, Ashraf Kaiser, Dr. Abul Kashem Haider, and Abdul Haque, alongside Fatema Begum, the personal assistant to the late leader. The organizing committee stated that this annual award aims to recognize eminent citizens who play a pivotal role in the country’s development and progress.
