Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir shared this vision on Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026, while attending an international dialogue titled "COMPASS Dialogue" in Banani, Dhaka. Organized by the Institute of Strategy and Tactics Research (ISTR), the event was attended by diplomats from various nations and representatives from international donor agencies. During the dialogue, the Minister identified bureaucratic delays within government agencies as a major hurdle to investment and emphasized that administrative reforms are currently being implemented to build a more trustworthy environment for foreign investors.

Addressing the national energy security, Mirza Fakhrul announced that the government is prioritizing the resolution of the energy crisis, with the tendering process for gas extraction set to begin within the next three months. He asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the administration remains firmly committed to protecting national sovereignty and driving economic growth. The dialogue also touched upon regional stability and the ongoing Rohingya crisis, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation. The event saw the presence of several high-ranking officials, including the Prime Minister's Advisor Mahdi Amin and State Minister for Power and Energy Anindya Islam Amit, all of whom underscored the government's readiness to provide full support to global investors to unlock the country’s economic potential.
