DMP to Deploy Counterfeit Note Detection Machines at Cattle Markets
Acting DMP Commissioner Md. Sarwar shared this information on Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026, while inspecting the Gabtoli cattle market. He warned that special operations are currently underway to identify and bring counterfeit currency racketeers to justice. To ensure security and protect both buyers and traders from fraud, the Commissioner confirmed that counterfeit note detection machines will be installed at every designated cattle market.
Beyond currency security, Md. Sarwar noted that police personnel will maintain a constant presence on the roads surrounding Gabtoli and other major markets to prevent any form of chaos or traffic congestion. Specialized teams from the Detective Branch (DB) and the DMP are already on the ground to monitor transactions and ensure a safe environment for the seasonal trade. The authorities emphasized that these measures are part of a comprehensive security plan designed to facilitate a smooth experience for the public during the sacrificial animal trade, with a particular focus on preventing any fraudulent activities.
