Fuel Prices in Bangladesh Remain Manageable Compared to Global Market: PM’s Adviser

Speaking to reporters following a dialogue with donor agencies titled ‘The Law Compass Dialogue’ in the capital’s Banani on May 6, 2026, the adviser noted that despite initial challenges, the government has successfully stabilized the supply chain. He explained that by consulting with both domestic and international experts and securing energy from alternative sources, the administration has managed to maintain a steady flow of fuel to meet national demand.

The adviser further highlighted that successful international negotiations have placed Bangladesh in a favorable position regarding energy security. He stated that the government has turned global challenges into opportunities to propel the national economy forward, ensuring that fuel remains affordable for the general public despite volatile international market conditions. Beyond the energy sector, Mahdi Amin asserted that the current administration is governing based on the aspirations of the people, pointing to a stable law and order situation and the successful implementation of promises in health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure. He concluded by calling for political practices rooted in mutual harmony and truth, while urging the public to stand united against misinformation and negative politics.
