Passengers Narrowly Escape as Microbus Catches Fire in Dhaka’s Farmgate

According to Kashaingnu Marma, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tejgaon Police Station, the incident occurred around 10:00 AM on May 6, 2026. Preliminary investigations suggest that a mechanical fault likely triggered the blaze while the vehicle was in motion. Fortunately, all passengers managed to evacuate the vehicle quickly before the flames intensified, resulting in no reported casualties or injuries.

Following the incident, police personnel responded promptly to the scene and managed to remove the charred microbus from the main road to clear the path for traffic. Normal vehicular movement on the road has since been restored. While the specific cause of the fire is yet to be definitively confirmed, the vehicle has been moved to a secure location for further inspection, and the authorities are currently in communication with the owner of the microbus regarding the incident.
