EC Decides to Gazette Nusrat Tabassum as Reserved Seat MP

Senior Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud confirmed on Monday that the commission has already signed the necessary documents for the gazette, which will now be sent to the BG Press for publication.

Nusrat Tabassum’s candidacy was finalized following a legal battle in the High Court. After her writ petition, the court directed the EC to accept her nomination and proceed with the legal formalities. Consequently, the Returning Officer validated her nomination on Saturday after scrutiny and published her name in the list of valid candidates on Sunday. The Commission stated that since there are currently no legal stays or conflicting orders, they are moving forward with the gazette process while remaining attentive to any further directives from the judiciary.
