During the meeting, the Speaker highlighted the profound fraternal ties between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, rooted in shared religious values. He noted that the annual pilgrimage of a large number of Bangladeshis to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah further strengthens the mutual respect and long-standing friendship between the two nations.

The Speaker informed the Ambassador that the democratic journey of Bangladesh has been revitalized following the general elections held in February 2026. He reflected on the restoration of democratic rights and discussed the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation through the formation of 'Parliamentary Friendship Groups.' The conversation also touched upon the ongoing Middle East crisis and the roles of international powers. Furthermore, the Speaker urged the OIC to take a more proactive role in resolving the Rohingya crisis. Senior officials from both the Saudi Embassy and the Parliament Secretariat were present at the occasion.
