Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin ur Rashid shared this information with reporters on Monday morning, May 4, 2026, following the third session of the second day of the Deputy Commissioners' (DC) Conference held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital. He stated that, as an initial measure, each affected farmer would be provided with Tk 7,500.

The Agriculture Minister informed that the process of listing affected farmers at the field level is currently underway. The funds will be distributed directly to the farmers through the District Commissioners as quickly as possible. “We are making every effort to help farmers recover from their losses. This Tk 7,500 is just the starting step; further assistance will be considered based on future needs,” the Minister said.

During the DC Conference, the Minister directed field administration officials to ensure that the lists include only those genuinely affected and that the allocated funds are distributed transparently, without any irregularities. This emergency government support is expected to help marginalized farmers resume their cultivation activities and mitigate the impact of the recent natural setbacks.
