Government Assures Justice for Families of Murdered PhD Students in Florida
She made these remarks to journalists while receiving and handing over the body of Jamil Ahmed Limon to his family at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday morning, May 4, 2026.
The State Minister informed that following the arrival of Limon’s remains, the process to repatriate the body of the other victim, Nahida Sultana Brishti, is being expedited. "We have been in constant communication with the US government from the very beginning to ensure a fair investigation and trial for these killings. The government is taking every possible step, and we are hopeful that the families of Limon and Brishti will receive justice," she stated.
Limon’s body arrived in Dhaka at 8:47 AM on an Emirates Airlines flight. While receiving the remains at the airport, Limon’s maternal uncle informed that after completing the necessary formalities, the body would be taken to his ancestral home in Jamalpur for burial. Expressing deep condolences over the loss of the two brilliant scholars, the State Minister added that the government remains highly vigilant regarding the safety and security of Bangladeshi students studying abroad.
