High Public Expectations: President Urges DCs to Prioritize Public Interest
Addressing the District Commissioners (DCs) at Bangabhaban on Sunday (May 3) night, the President called upon field-level officials to work with dedication to meet these aspirations. He emphasized that establishing a transparent, accountable, and service-oriented administration is crucial for fulfilling the people's hopes. He also urged the DCs to ensure that the benefits of government projects reach the actual beneficiaries without delay.
Reflecting on his past experiences, the President noted that the previous regime had deprived him of the opportunity to meet with the DCs. He thanked the current elected government for restoring this tradition. Furthermore, he lauded the professionalism of the DCs in conducting the 13th National Parliamentary Elections peacefully. Regarding the global energy crisis and rising commodity prices, he directed officials to intensify market monitoring and strictly implement the government's 'zero-tolerance' policy against corruption. At the beginning of his speech, the President paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, and the heroes of the July-August 2024 mass uprising.
