The Bangladesh Embassy in Washington D.C. confirmed on Sunday, May 3, 2026, that an Emirates Airlines flight carrying Limon's remains is currently en route to Dhaka. According to the scheduled itinerary, the flight is expected to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport tomorrow, Monday, May 4, at 8:40 AM.

The entire repatriation process was directly supervised by the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Miami, specifically by Consul General Sahely Sabrin and Consul Thoaiing. Following the recovery of Limon’s body on April 25, the legal formalities were completed with the cooperation of local police, university authorities, and the Bangladeshi expatriate community. Earlier on Thursday, a funeral prayer (Janaza) was held at the Istaba Islamic Society Mosque in Tampa, attended by a large number of students and expatriates.

Meanwhile, the process of sending back the body of Nahida Sultana Brishti, another Bangladeshi student killed in the same incident, is also underway. Following the identification of her remains by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office on May 1, the handover process began with the consent of her family. Golam Mortoza, Press Minister at the Washington Embassy, stated that Brishti’s first Janaza will be held in Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday, May 6, at 2:00 PM. Subsequently, the Embassy and the Miami Consulate General will take the necessary steps to send her remains to Dhaka as soon as possible.
