PM Pledges Equal Wages and Dignified Workplaces on International Workers' Day
Highlighting gender equality in the workforce, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government is determined to ensure equal wages for both men and women. He stated that the tireless efforts of workers are the backbone of the national economy, and providing them with a safe environment and social dignity remains a top priority of the current democratic administration.
The Prime Minister noted that Bangladesh continues to strengthen its ties with the International Labour Organization (ILO) by adhering to its conventions. He cited the timely payment of salaries and bonuses during the last Eid-ul-Fitr as a testament to the government's labor-friendly policies. Reflecting on history, he paid tribute to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman for his visionary role in expanding the labor market abroad and establishing the garment industry. PM Rahman concluded by asserting that a self-reliant and humanitarian Bangladesh can only be built by safeguarding the security, welfare, and rights of every worker.
