During the meeting held on Wednesday (April 29) at the National Parliament, discussions focused on increasing Japanese investment in agriculture, technology, and the automobile sectors. The Prime Minister highlighted the creation of youth employment as a top priority and proposed exporting skilled Bangladeshi manpower, particularly in the healthcare and agriculture sectors, to Japan—a proposal received positively by the Japanese envoy.

The delegation emphasized the effective implementation of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and the timely completion of major projects like the Matarbari Deep Sea Port and Dhaka Metro Rail. While Japan announced $17.5 million in aid for the Rohingya crisis, Prime Minister Rahman reiterated that a swift and safe repatriation remains the ultimate solution. Furthermore, the Prime Minister accepted an invitation to visit Japan at a convenient time to further strengthen the "tested friendship" between the two nations.
