The tension flared up when Gazipur-2 MP Manjurul Karim Rony characterized the ongoing debate regarding the July movement as an "unnecessary controversy," drawing sharp rebukes from the opposition benches. Rony argued that the uprising was not the achievement of a single group, noting that hundreds of their fellow activists also sacrificed their lives during the struggle.

Following the remarks, Jamaat-e-Islami MP Nurul Islam stood on a point of order, asserting that the current government was formed on the very foundation of the July uprising and its significance cannot be dismissed. Amidst the chaos, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed intervened, reminding members that dissent is the "beauty of democracy" and urging them to maintain decorum. Later, Deputy Speaker Kaiser Kamal assured the house that the controversial remarks would be reviewed for potential expunging from the official records.
