He made these remarks on Sunday, April 26, 2026, while speaking to journalists after paying floral tributes at the graves of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. The event was organized alongside leaders of the newly formed committee of the Muktijoddha Projonmo Dal.

Rizvi recalled the famine of 1975, noting how Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman initiated a canal-digging program to spark an agricultural revolution, the benefits of which the nation still enjoys. Following in those footsteps, Prime Minister Tarek Rahman has already launched canal-digging activities in Dinajpur and introduced "Family Cards" and "Farmer Cards" for public welfare. Rizvi emphasized that this government, elected by popular vote, has succeeded in establishing true democracy after moving past a dark era of disappearances and extrajudicial killings.

Addressing the ongoing energy crisis, Rizvi clarified that the situation is not due to internal factors but is an international issue triggered by the conflict in the Middle East. He noted that the government is working efficiently to overcome this challenge. Emphasizing renewable energy, he suggested that Bangladesh should follow Pakistan's example by expanding rooftop solar systems. He urged the government to encourage citizens by reducing taxes on solar panel installations, which would decrease foreign dependency for electricity.

Additionally, Rizvi expressed grave concern over the death of 11 people from measles in the last 24 hours. He called upon the Ministry of Health to take immediate and effective measures to control the outbreak.
