'Fuel Pass' App Made Mandatory at 11 Filling Stations in Dhaka

According to a directive issued by the ICT wing of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, this new regulation will come into effect on April 28, 2026. The concerned filling stations have been instructed to ensure that motorcycle riders specifically use this app to procure fuel.

The list of designated stations includes Karim & Sons at Shapla Chattar, Eureka Enterprise in Mohakhali, Masud Hassan Filling Station on Airport Road, and Messrs. Sotota & Company in the Tejgaon Industrial Area. Other included stations are Messrs. Dipto Filling Station in Ibrahimpur (Mirpur), Messrs. Kamal Trading Agency in Tejgaon, S.P. Filling Station Limited in Gabtoli, and City Filling Station in Tejgaon. Furthermore, Seba Green Filling Station in Uttara, SAM Associates in Mirpur-02, and Sumatra Filling Station on Kalshi Road will also operate under this digital system.

The government believes this digital initiative will lead to significant transparency in fuel stock management and sales processes. By implementing this system, authorities aim to prevent the sale of fuel at inflated prices and curb the creation of artificial shortages. The directive further noted that from the specified date, motorcyclists at these stations will be able to complete transactions via the app alongside traditional cash or card payments. This decision is expected to be expanded to other filling stations across the country in phases.
