July-August Uprising Clarifies People's Ownership of the State, Says PM Tarique Rahman
He noted that for a long time, the people of the country had been waiting for an accountable, justice-based, and welfare-oriented governance system. The Prime Minister remarked that the current government serves as a reflection of those long-cherished aspirations of the citizens. He made these comments on Saturday morning, April 25, 2026, while inaugurating the newly constructed third building of the BIAM Foundation in the city’s New Eskaton area.
In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for a radical transformation of the bureaucracy to build a modern and prosperous nation. He stated that there is no alternative to creating a people-friendly administration to establish a discrimination-free country. Addressing government officials, he urged them to view themselves not as rulers of the people, but as their servants. To achieve this, he placed special importance on enhancing professional skills and improving the quality of service through rigorous training. The Prime Minister assured that the current government is fully committed to developing merit-based, confident, and creative human resources.
Praising the activities of the BIAM Foundation, the Prime Minister noted that institutions of this nature play an invaluable role in creating a skilled workforce. Earlier, he unveiled the foundation stone of the third building. Following the inauguration, the Prime Minister toured various departments and facilities of the BIAM Foundation and participated in an exchange of views with senior officials. He directed officials at all levels of the administration to work with renewed vigor in the service of the public, aligning with the transparent administrative standards upheld in many developed and NATO-member democratic systems.
