During his address, the Prime Minister issued a sharp critique of previous administrations, describing their failure to provide timely measles vaccinations for children as an "unpardonable crime." He noted that through the current government's proactive measures, the severe measles situation in the country has been largely contained, with further improvements expected in the near future.
The conference was specifically designed to modernize and strengthen the operations of Upazila Health and Family Planning Officers. By reviewing the overall performance of the health sector, the Prime Minister provided critical directives to ensure that field-level services are efficient and transparent.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to the top-performing Upazila Health and Family Planning Officers in recognition of their exceptional service. The Prime Minister was joined by Health Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain Bakul, State Minister for Health Dr. M.A. Muhit, Health Secretary Mohammad Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, and the Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Prof. Dr. Provat Chandra Biswas.
The Prime Minister concluded by reiterating that the government is determined to build a modern, non-discriminatory healthcare infrastructure that aligns with international standards set by the World Health Organization and other global professional bodies. The focus remains on making the health administration more responsive to the needs of the rural population, ensuring a healthier future for the next generation.
