Manifesto Includes Provisions for Every Profession and Social Class: PM
Emphasizing the inclusivity of the state's vision, he remarked, "Whether they are laborers, farmers, or day-earners—we have included something for everyone in our manifesto, and the implementation process has already begun." The Prime Minister made these comments during a parliamentary session on Wednesday morning, April 15, 2026, in response to a supplementary question from Shimul Biswas, MP for Pabna-5.
The session, presided over by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, began at 11:00 AM with a scheduled question-and-answer period where the Prime Minister detailed various welfare initiatives. He announced that following the successful distribution of 'Farmer Cards,' the government has now initiated the process of issuing 'Family Cards' specifically designed to empower marginalized, female-headed households.
To stimulate the rural economy, the Prime Minister highlighted the 'Canal Digging' program and an ambitious project to plant 250 million trees over the next five years, which is expected to generate massive employment opportunities. Furthermore, he updated the Parliament on the progress of providing official government honors and allowances for Imams, Muazzins, and religious leaders of all faiths—a key commitment previously made by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Addressing the development of the youth and sports sectors, Prime Minister Rahman introduced the 'Sports Card' initiative. This program aims to provide financial security to talented athletes, ensuring that no meritorious sportsperson has to abandon their career due to poverty. "The people voted overwhelmingly for the BNP in the last election," the Prime Minister stated. "Our commitment is to serve them."
The Prime Minister concluded by informing the Parliament that the government has adopted long-term policies focused on improving the standard of living for both industrial entrepreneurs and ordinary citizens. He reiterated his administration’s pledge to build a modern Bangladesh, modeled after developed nations that ensure comprehensive social security for their most marginalized populations.
