Home Minister Announces "Special Operations" Against Drugs
Speaking at an event in Teknaf this Tuesday, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed emphasized the government's firm commitment to making Bangladesh drug-free. He revealed that law enforcement agencies have been directed to launch organized operations shortly to dismantle drug networks and curb the rising trend of online gambling.
Addressing the specific crisis of human trafficking in the Teknaf and Ukhiya regions, the Minister assured strict surveillance at all strategic points. The event also marked a significant milestone for local agriculture, as the Minister distributed 'Farmer Cards' to 1,698 farmers following a virtual inauguration by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman across 10 districts. Senior officials from the administration, police, and BGB attended the ceremony, reinforcing the government’s multifaceted approach to security and development.
