Speaking at the traditional New Year celebrations at Ramna Batamul today, Chhayanat President Sarwar Ali emphasized the importance of a "fearless lifestyle" for all Bengalis.

He expressed grave concern over recent attacks on cultural activists, including the vandalism at Chhayanat's premises and assaults on Baul singers and Udichi members. Reflecting on the tragic 2001 Ramna bombings, Ali warned that rising intolerance and collective harassment pose a threat to freedom of speech.

He stated that music, which has been a companion in our Liberation War and all struggles for rights, must not be silenced by any evil force. Describing a vision of a homeland where "the mind is without fear and the head is held high," his speech resonated deeply with thousands of attendees. Ali also called for the protection of journalists and a peaceful world amidst global geopolitical crises.
