Kamal Uddin Sabuj Appointed MD and Chief Editor of BSS

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday (April 7), his contractual appointment is effective for a period of one year. Under the terms of the BSS Act 2018, he will relinquish all current professional and business affiliations to assume his new role at the national news agency.

With a career spanning several decades, Kamal Uddin Sabuj is a respected figure in the media industry, currently serving as the Chief Editor of the Daily Desh Rupantor. He has previously held the prestigious position of President of the National Press Club. Starting his career in 1985 with the English daily Daily News, he later gained extensive experience at UNB and BSS. An alumnus of Chittagong University with a degree in English Literature, his appointment is seen as a significant move for the state-run news organization.
