Georgia State Senate Recognizes Peacekeeping Contributions
Bangladesh’s Chief of Army Staff, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, received a prestigious special resolution from Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp during a formal Senate session this Tuesday (March 31).
The resolution, backed by both Republican and Democratic senators, commends the vital role played by Bangladeshi troops in maintaining global peace and security. Bangladeshi-origin Senator Sheikh Rahman played a key role in spearheading this legislative recognition. During his visit, General Waker-Uz-Zaman also held high-level bilateral talks with Governor Kemp and Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones to discuss military cooperation. This recognition highlights Bangladesh’s unwavering commitment to international stability and further strengthens the strategic ties between the two nations.
