Tania Ferdous of the Ministry of Youth and Sports confirmed the order on Thursday, April 2, 2026, following recent cabinet divisions' instructions.

The official directive emphasizes that official programs or external meetings must be scheduled in a way that does not disrupt this mandatory morning presence. To enforce these rules and monitor compliance, every government department and agency has been instructed to form a dedicated "Vigilance Team." These teams will be responsible for ensuring that staff are at their desks during the designated hours and that energy-saving protocols are being strictly followed across all administrative levels.

In addition to workplace attendance, the government has introduced rigorous measures to curb electricity consumption in response to the ongoing international fuel crisis. All offices have been directed to maximize the use of natural light during daytime hours and maintain air conditioner temperatures at 25°C or higher. Furthermore, the use of unnecessary decorative lighting in and around government buildings has been strictly prohibited.
