PM Tarique Rahman Sends Special Diplomatic Message to UAE President

The diplomatic correspondence was officially handed over during a high-level meeting in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. According to the state-run Emirates News Agency (WAM), the message underscores Bangladesh’s commitment to maintaining its historic friendship with the UAE while exploring new frontiers for strategic cooperation.

The Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Humayun Kabir, delivered the letter during a meeting with the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In the written communication, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral trade and identifying fresh avenues for investment between the two nations. The message also reaffirmed Bangladesh’s pledge to collaborate on achieving mutual sustainable development goals and enhancing economic synergy in a rapidly changing global landscape.

During the discussions, Adviser Humayun Kabir expressed Bangladesh’s full solidarity and unwavering support for the security and stability of the United Arab Emirates, particularly amid the current regional geopolitical challenges. Both sides discussed the progress of ongoing joint projects and expressed optimism about deepening the strategic partnership. This high-level diplomatic outreach is expected to solidify Bangladesh’s economic standing in the Middle East and pave the way for increased labor market opportunities and energy security cooperation.
