Over 4.6 Lakh Government Posts Vacant in Bangladesh: Public Administration Minister

According to the "Statistics of Public Servants 2024," based on data up to December 31, 2023, the total number of currently employed government officials and staff stands at 1,450,891 across all ministries and offices.

The breakdown of the vacancies shows significant gaps across all categories. There are 68,884 vacant posts for Class-I officers and 129,166 for Class-II. The highest number of vacancies was found in Class-III, with 146,799 empty positions, followed by 115,235 vacant spots in Class-IV. Additionally, 8,136 posts remain unfilled in other specialized categories. This update highlights the urgent need for fresh recruitment to streamline public administration and ensure efficient service delivery to the citizens.
