Home Adviser: Police Will No Longer Act as a Political Tool
Speaking as the chief guest at the passing out parade of the 43rd BCS Police batch at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Saradah, he emphasized the government's commitment to permanently decoupling law enforcement from political influence to ensure a professional and humanitarian service.
The Home Adviser stated that the era of using the police to serve partisan interests has ended, with the current administration focusing on deep-rooted reforms to transform the force into a "true friend of the people." He noted that a 'Police Reform Commission' has already been established to restructure the force’s constitutional and operational framework, aiming to eliminate political interference and enhance accountability at all levels.
During the ceremony, which began at 11:30 AM, Ahmed urged the newly commissioned officers to prioritize public service and uphold the rule of law without bias. He expressed optimism that the ongoing reforms would soon yield visible results, creating a disciplined, modern, and citizen-friendly policing system that respects democratic values and human rights.
