United Efforts Can Build the Desired Self-Reliant Bangladesh: Prime Minister
Addressing a discussion organized by the BNP in Dhaka this Friday (March 27, 2026), Prime Minister Tarique Rahman emphasized that his government’s primary commitment is the collective well-being of all citizens. Highlighting the historical significance of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the Prime Minister described him as an "inevitable character" of the Liberation War.
He noted that despite past attempts to diminish Ziaur Rahman’s role, historical documents—including essays from 1972 and 1974—confirm his immense contribution and long-standing mental preparation for independence. PM Tarique Rahman warned against getting stuck in the past or forgetting it entirely, urging the nation to focus on factual history to build a modern state. He concluded by reiterating that truth remains absolute and cannot be obscured by political propaganda.
