Anti-Independence Forces Re-emerging in New Forms : LGRD Minister

Speaking at a discussion organized by the BNP in Dhaka this Friday (March 27, 2026), Mirza Fakhrul stated that the same forces that opposed Bangladesh in 1971 are now trying to become politically active under different labels. He urged the nation to remain vigilant and united to thwart any threats to independence and democracy.

Fakhrul called for moving beyond "past-oriented politics" and focusing instead on building a modern, prosperous Bangladesh. Addressing party activists, he emphasized strengthening the leadership of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to overcome all conspiracies. The event also featured Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, who reaffirmed that the history of 1971 remains unique and cannot be equated with any other historical event.
