He made these remarks on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, while speaking to journalists ahead of a meeting of the 14-member special parliamentary committee at the Jatiya Sangsad.

The Minister emphasized that public expectations and the sacrifices of the "July revolutionaries" would be the highest priority in all state decision-making. Key highlights from his statement include:

Review of 133 Ordinances: The government has initiated a comprehensive review of 133 ordinances promulgated during the interim government's tenure. According to constitutional requirements, a final decision on these ordinances must be made within 30 working days of the first parliamentary sitting. The special committee will determine which ordinances will be fast-tracked into law and which will be implemented in phases.

Indemnity for July Revolutionaries: Minister Ahmed confirmed that the government is committed to providing legal and constitutional protection to those who participated in the uprising. This includes formalizing the July Mass Uprising (Protection and Liability Determination) Ordinance, 2026, into a permanent act to ensure participants are shielded from harassment or politically motivated cases.

Renaming of Institutions: The Minister hinted at a widespread review of institution names established under the previous "fascist" regime. He noted that the government plans to rename various public entities and institutions to reflect national consensus and the updated political landscape.

Commitment to the July National Charter: He reaffirmed that the state would be governed in accordance with the Constitution while strictly adhering to the July National Charter, a document of consensus among the political forces that led the movement.

This announcement underscores the administration's intent to transition from emergency executive orders to accountable, deliberative governance while maintaining the revolutionary momentum that led to the change in power.
