Nationwide One-Minute ‘Blackout’ to Honor March 25 Victims
According to a press release from the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issued on Monday (March 23), the blackout will take place from 10:30 PM to 10:31 PM. During this time, the entire country will go dark as a mark of respect, although emergency services, KPI areas, and foreign diplomatic missions will remain exempt from the program.
The Ministry has also prohibited any decorative lighting on government, semi-government, or private buildings on the night of March 25 to maintain the solemnity of the occasion. Earlier, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed noted that in light of the global energy crisis and power-saving measures, there will also be no official illumination for Independence Day on March 26. This symbolic darkness serves as a powerful reminder of the atrocities committed by the Pakistani forces and represents a unified national tribute to the martyrs of the liberation war.
