PM Tarique Rahman Orders Emergency Measures to Secure Transport

In a statement from the Prime Minister's Office this Sunday (March 22), PM Tarique Rahman termed the loss of lives during the festive Eid season as "extremely painful and alarming."

He has directed the Ministry of Railways and local administrations to identify the root causes of these accidents immediately. Following the train-bus collision in Cumilla, three investigation committees have been formed with a 72-hour deadline to submit their reports. The Prime Minister emphasized that his government is determined to ensure safe travel for all citizens and has ordered exemplary legal action against those found responsible for the lapses.

Additionally, he instructed authorities to provide the best possible medical care for the injured and financial assistance to the bereaved families.
