President and Prime Minister Join Eid Prayers at National Eidgah After 36 Years
This marks the first time in 36 years that the country's top two leaders shared the same prayer ground for the main Eid congregation. Led by Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek, the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram, the prayer began at 8:30 AM on Saturday (March 21).
Alongside the President and Prime Minister, over 330 VIPs and approximately 100,000 devotees participated in the congregation. Special arrangements were made for women, ensuring a massive yet disciplined gathering. Following the prayers, both leaders exchanged Eid greetings, symbolizing a new chapter of political harmony. While thousands gathered at the National Eidgah, five other congregations continued as scheduled at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque to accommodate the capital's massive turnout.
