Shawwal Moon Sighted: Bangladesh to Celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr This Saturday

The announcement came this Friday evening following a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, chaired by Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaikobad).

President Mohammed Sahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman have extended their heartfelt greetings to the nation, wishing for peace and prosperity. While Saudi Arabia and several other countries celebrated Eid today, Bangladesh will join the festivities tomorrow. Preparations are now complete at major prayer grounds, including the historic Sholakia Maidan and the National Eidgah in Dhaka, as millions prepare for the morning congregations.
