Nilsagar Derailment: Station Master and Two Drivers Suspended

State Minister for Railways, Habibur Rashid Habib, confirmed the disciplinary action on Thursday (March 19) during an inspection at Kamalapur Railway Station.

The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to passenger safety, stating that accountability is paramount. The incident occurred last Wednesday when nine coaches of the Nilphamari-bound train veered off the tracks at Adamdighi, injuring over a hundred passengers. While the derailment caused temporary schedule disruptions, the Minister assured that rail operations have returned to normal and plans for infrastructure upgrades are underway.
