99% Garment Factories Clear Wages and Eid Bonuses: BGMEA

During a press briefing at the BGMEA complex in Uttara on Wednesday (March 18), BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan confirmed that 99.91% of member factories have paid February salaries, while 99.81% have distributed Eid bonuses. The remaining few are currently in the process of finalizing payments.

The briefing highlighted that export earnings fell by 3.73% in the first eight months of the fiscal year, with the average unit price of garments decreasing by 1.76%. Despite rising energy costs and supply chain uncertainties, the industry prioritized worker welfare to ensure a smooth Eid celebration. The BGMEA leadership assured that there are no major unresolved wage disputes among its listed members, providing a sense of relief to the country's largest workforce ahead of the festivities.
