Until the day before Eid, nine major intercity trains heading to North Bengal will no longer stop at the Dhaka Airport Railway Station. This decision aims to maintain strict punctuality and manage the overwhelming influx of passengers at one of the capital's busiest transit points.

The intercity trains affected by this temporary stoppage cancellation include the Ekota, Drutojan, Panchagarh, Nilsagor, Kurigram, Lalmoni, Rangpur, Chilahati, and Burimari Express. To further streamline operations, the railway authorities have suspended the issuance of intercity tickets for the short journey between Dhaka and Airport stations. Additionally, several trains, including the Sundarban, Modhumoti, Benapole, and Jahanabad Express, as well as specific commuter services, have had their departure points shifted from the main platforms to the Suburban Platform at Dhaka Railway Station. To maximize coach availability for general passengers, the use of special "Saloon Cars" has been banned for 20 days surrounding the Eid period.

Security has also been significantly heightened at major rail hubs in Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, and Rajshahi. A coordinated force comprising the GRP, RNB, BGB, RAB, and local police is conducting strict inspections to prevent ticketless travelers from entering the platforms. Intelligence surveillance has been intensified along railway tracks and on moving trains to preempt any acts of sabotage or disorder, ensuring a safer and more efficient journey for millions of homebound citizens.
