PSC Issues Strict Guidelines for 50th BCS Written Exams Starting April 9
According to a special notice published on the PSC website on Sunday, March 15, 2026, the compulsory subject exams will commence on April 9 and run through April 23. This will be followed by technical and professional subject examinations starting April 27 and concluding on May 7. The exams will be held simultaneously in all divisional cities across the country, including Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur, and Mymensingh.
A total of 12,385 candidates, who successfully cleared the preliminary stage, are expected to appear for these written tests. In a move to ensure the highest level of integrity and prevent any form of digital forgery, the PSC has implemented a "zero-tolerance" policy regarding prohibited items. Candidates are strictly forbidden from bringing mobile phones, electronic communication devices, digital or analog watches, calculators, bags, books, or even items like wallets, keys, jewelry, and credit cards into the examination halls. The commission warned that any candidate found with these items will be barred from the exam and may face legal consequences.
To enforce these rules, executive magistrates and special police teams will be stationed at the entrance of every center to conduct thorough searches using metal detectors. Additionally, the commission has mandated that candidates keep their ears visible during the exam; however, those with medical needs for hearing aids must obtain prior written permission from the PSC by presenting a specialist doctor's recommendation. Candidates have been instructed to arrive at their respective centers at least 30 minutes before the start of the exam, and the PSC has already begun sending these instructions via SMS to the registered mobile numbers of all eligible examinees.
