State Minister for Youth and Sports Rewards 317 Teenagers with Bicycles for Regular Prayers
During the holy month of Ramadan, 317 teenagers who successfully attended all five daily prayers in congregation for 30 consecutive days are being rewarded with brand-new bicycles. The formal distribution ceremony began yesterday afternoon in front of the Central Jame Mosque in Mirpur-11, Dhaka.
On the opening day of the program, the State Minister handed over bicycles to 45 selected teenagers, including 27 from the Mirpur Central Jame Mosque and 18 from the Rupnagar Tin-Shed area. This initiative is currently being implemented across six mosques in four wards of Mirpur. Aminul Haque emphasized that the primary goal of this initiative is not merely the prize itself, but the cultivation of a lifelong habit of prayer and the guidance of children toward a righteous path. He identified the ages of 12 to 14 as a critical period for moral development and expressed his hope that this gesture would inspire the youth to maintain their religious commitments permanently.
The State Minister also shared his vision for the future, noting that he plans to expand the scope of this program to include more mosques and participants in the coming years. By blending community engagement with religious encouragement, the initiative aims to keep the younger generation connected to social and spiritual hubs, shielding them from negative influences. The distribution has sparked significant enthusiasm among local families, who see it as a positive way to motivate children toward discipline and community service.
