Ministry Orders Strict Enforcement Against Buildings Violating Approved Designs

During a recent coordination meeting, the Ministry instructed the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) and other regional development authorities—including those in Chattogram, Khulna, Rajshahi, Cox’s Bazar, Gazipur, and Jashore—to significantly intensify their field inspections and monitoring of under-construction structures.

Presided over by the Ministry's Secretary, Md. Nazrul Islam, the meeting resolved to fast-track the recruitment of building inspectors for vacant positions and assign them specific area-based responsibilities to ensure accountability. Authorities were directed to strictly enforce the Detailed Area Plan (DAP) 2022–2035 and the Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) 2020. Additionally, the Ministry emphasized the immediate eviction of illegal occupants from government lands and mandated the regular submission of detailed monitoring reports to track compliance.
