PM Tarique Rahman to Launch 53-Canal Excavation Drive from Dinajpur on Monday

Part of the party's electoral pledge, this initiative aims to revitalize canals originally excavated by late President Ziaur Rahman to boost irrigation, fisheries, and the rural economy.

The Minister highlighted that the 12-km Sahapara-Balrampur canal project alone will benefit approximately 350,000 people by providing flood protection and irrigation facilities. According to the itinerary, the Prime Minister will arrive in Dinajpur via Saidpur, address a public rally, and offer prayers at the graves of his maternal grandparents and aunt in Dinajpur city. The program will conclude with an Iftar gathering with local dignitaries and political leaders.
