The vessel, 'MV Calypso N', anchored at the outer bar on Wednesday (March 11). According to the Ministry of Food, quality sampling and testing of the wheat have already been completed, and authorities are now moving swiftly to begin the unloading process.

Under the G2G-1 and G2G-2 contracts, Bangladesh has successfully imported a total of 237,845 tons and 230,039 tons of wheat, respectively. With an annual domestic demand of approximately 7 million tons against a local production of only 1 million tons, these international shipments are crucial for maintaining national food security and stabilizing market supplies.
