The official launch will take place in the Kaharole upazila of Dinajpur. Mir Shah Alam, the State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development, and Co-operatives, shared the information with journalists on Tuesday (March 10) following a high-level meeting with the Prime Minister at the Secretariat.

This initiative aims to excavate 20,000 kilometers of canals and waterbodies across the country over a four-year period, fulfilling a key electoral pledge of the BNP. On the inauguration day, while the Prime Minister launches the central program in Dinajpur, ministers and members of parliament will simultaneously kick off the drive in 54 other districts. The project is seen as a major step toward enhancing agricultural irrigation and environmental restoration as per the government’s development agenda.
