Carrying 100,000 tons of crude oil from Saudi Arabia, the vessel has been stationary for four days, unable to navigate the strategic waterway. To ensure its safe arrival at Chattogram port, the Energy Division is reaching out to the Iranian government through diplomatic channels.

Energy Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been requested to coordinate with Iran for the vessel's release. Meanwhile, to mitigate potential fuel shortages, the Ministry of Energy is finalizing plans to procure 300,000 tons of diesel under the Direct Procurement Method (DPM). Despite rising costs, the government remains committed to maintaining a steady supply of fuel oil and LNG through April by exploring all available avenues.
