Speaking at the launch of a documentary film focused on victims of enforced disappearances—organized by the platform Mayer Dak (The Mother’s Call)—Fakhrul accused the deposed leader of lacking remorse for the heinous crime of disappearances. He claimed that despite her role in these atrocities, she continues to plot from abroad to destabilize the country.

The Minister highlighted the profound suffering of families whose loved ones were taken, noting that many have lived in inhumane conditions for years without any resolution or support. Taking a humanitarian stance, Fakhrul emphasized the urgent need for the state to introduce a special allowance specifically for these families. He argued that since the state failed to protect its citizens, it now holds the moral and legal responsibility to ensure the survival and dignity of the victims' dependents.

The event, held at the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity, was marked by an emotional atmosphere as relatives of the disappeared shared their stories of loss and long-standing trauma. Fakhrul’s proposal for a state allowance aligns with recent government steps, such as the Enforced Disappearance Prevention and Redress Ordinance 2026, which aims to provide legal protection and inheritance rights to these families. The Minister reassured the audience that the "New Bangladesh" remains committed to justice and accountability for every victim of the previous regime.
