Begum Khaleda Zia to Receive ‘Best Indomitable Woman’ Award for Democratic Struggle

This special recognition is in honor of her outstanding contribution to the restoration of democracy in the country. The award will be formally presented on Sunday, March 8, at an event organized at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.

The ministry stated that the decision was made to honor Begum Khaleda Zia's courageous leadership and her uncompromising struggle to protect and establish democratic processes. This year, five other resilient women are also being awarded in five regular categories. They are: Nurun Nahar Akhter (Economic Success), Mst. Bobita Khatun (Education and Employment), Nurbanu Kabir (Successful Mother), Mst. Shomla Begum (Struggle against Oppression), and Mst. Afroza Yasmin (Social Development).
